O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE is a 25 acre sustainable village demonstration site and education centre. Founded in 1999, it has operated as a community-based asset offering itself as a common ground for a diverse variety of groups and organizations.
A major focus for O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE is providing education for a next crop of new farmers. Whether it is curriculum on food security, organic production, protection of farmland, raising livestock/poultry, soil management, water conservation in food production, co-op farming, or alternative forms of land ownership for purchasing affordable farms, O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE has a wide range of courses and Internship options all on-site in O.U.R. ‘Permaculture Designed’ demonstration site and (expanding to 8 acres) food production areas. The beautiful Permaculture farming option helps others to envision growing food sustainably in the midst of a sustainable lifestyle.
Food sales:
All food produced is available to O.U.R. on-site “Zero Mile Meal Bistro,” is special ordered by Amuse Bistro, for the Community Farm Store, or is available to visitors/guests/program participants who come through O.U.R. school. Please contact us if you would like to propose a specialty product.
